Daniel Meadowhurst: A youngster
Edmond: A young dragon*
Rachel: A young woman, owner of Rachel’s Rapid Repairs
Masie Lune: A girl, about the same age as Daniel
Aunt Jessica: Daniel’s cuddly Aunt
Hester (also Eastre): An Old Woman; she has a Northern English accent. (Eastre is Old English: in this play her name will be pronounced East-reh.)
Suit of Armour: A talking, walking, thinking and extremely brave suit of armour
Stink: One of Jessica’s enormously horrible henchmen or women
Dribble: Another of Jessica’s enormously horrible henchmen or women
Isengrim: A huge wolf*
* Both these characters are puppets.
PRODUCTION HISTORY
Daniel and the Dragon and the Auntie from Hell was commissioned by Highbury Little Theatre, Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham using part of a Capital Lottery Award. The first performance took place at Highbury Little Theatre on Tuesday, 15th December 1998.
