REVIEWS

Alice comes alive on the page – a real, believable character that speaks to a part of every woman who has reached the youth of her old age. Smith captures the personality and multi-dimensional layers of his character so well that we wish we could hear more than a mere 5 minutes of storytelling. A brilliant piece that should be produced here, there and everywhere.’ – Vivian Lermond on New Play Exchange

.As an older actor myself, I can relate to the “roles I should have played, but now will never” lament. This is so relatable. But also, beyond acting. The great role of wife and mother Alice has been “cast in” and navigated without direction is also relatable as well. And though many of us know Nurse is actually the more fun role to play, it would be nice to be seen as a Juliet once. Just once. Alice is definitely comfortable and successful. But there are always the thoughts of “what if?”.’ – Jacqueline Floyd-Priskorn on New Play Exchange

A very strong monologue in an honest female voice. Captures the true nature of the envy, disappointment, and regret that surely every actor has experienced but rarely was able to express so eloquently. I can see this monologue complimenting the style of so many older female actresses while allowing them ample exploration of the beats within. – Evan Spreen on New Play Exchange
